Daphne Rabbit’s little triplets are hopping around the yard showing off their flowers. Each has her favorite! Lovingly crafted by Santa Fe artist Jone Hallmark, the triplets are a cute addition to her miniature little world of painted peg dolls. The bunnies are easy to make and fun to paint. Spend a few hours with Jone crafting a sweet set of triplets all your own.
The bunnies are made from small wooden peg dolls. Their dresses are painted in acrylic paint using simple lines and dots for decoration. The patterns are easy to learn, even if you’ve never held a brush before. Jone demonstrates how to create tone on tone patterns and layer colors for a richer look. Follow the designs that are in the little booklet she’s created specifically for the class, or enjoy making up your own. Then paint, paint, paint!
While the paint is drying, make the miniature flowers that the triplets hold. Jone has clever ways of crafting flowers from scraps of decorative paper, book pages, small millenary items, as well as fake flowers that she’s taken apart and repurposed. She’s delighted to show you her tricks. Each bunny has to have her own distinctive flower, of course!
Part of the fun of working with Jone is watching what whimsical touches she adds during class. You never know just what she might dream up!
This online class will be recorded and made available to class participants for 14 days after the class.
